Shawn Marie Jeffery

Prior to joining the ADA Artist Management team Shawn Marie Jeffery worked as the Director of Education for Opera New Jersey. For that company she created and directed abridged versions of The Magic Flute and The Pirates of Penzance that tour in schools in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. As a mezzo-soprano, Shawn winner of the Heinz Rehfuss Singing Actor’s Award, and was seen throughout the United States in roles ranging from Rossini’s comic heroines Isabella in Italian Girl in Algiers and Rosina in Barber of Seville, to the pants roles of Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro and Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, to the tragic Suziki in Madama Butterfly, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Bizet’s fiery gypsy Carmen. Concert appearances included Handel’s Messiah, Rachmaninov’s Vespers and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. Shawn resides in Connecticut with her husband and two young sons, and is currently adapting an abridged version Hansel and Gretel for Opera New Jersey.
