Christian Reinert: Rodolfo

The ups and downs of bohemian life in 19th century Paris have inspired writers and musicians even to the present day, but no one conveyed this world more tellingly than Giacomo Puccini did in his opera La Bohème, which sets the tragic love story of Mimi and Rodolfo to music of incredible – there is no other word for it – gorgeousness. It should come as a surprise to no one that Bohème, premiered in Italy in 1896, has become one of the most popular and frequently performed operas in the entire repertory. According to Opera America, La Bohème ranks as the second most frequently performed opera in the United States, second only to Madama Butterfly, also by Puccini. This Dicapo production of La Bohème is directed by Michael Capasso, whose devotion to Puccini has led to the performance by Dicapo Opera Theatre of every single note ever written by the composer.  Tickets & Information.
