Levi Hernandez: Tomski
The German engineer Hermann feels as an outsider in Russia. Although he has definitely tapped the full potential when it comes to his career, Hermann cannot liberate himself of his inferiority complex: Always with too little money, always being inferior to others. When he finds out that Lisa is Prince Jeletzki’s fiancée, he immediately wants to give up his dream of love’s happiness with Lisa. How could a girl, coming from the most influential circles of a society which is only focused on appearances, formalities and wealth, be interested in somebody who obviously does not belong to the»happy few«? Nonetheless, by pure chance, Hermann finds a loophole: There are rumours that Lisa’s warden, the old countess, knows a dead certain cards’ mix for gambling.
