Chuck Hudson: Master Class

Movement Techniques for the Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, or Shakespearean actress playing a male role.

Rather than “pretending to be a man” or imitating every production of Peter Pan you have ever seen, this master class explores the inter-corporeal differences between the physical behavior of men and women. Based on my own combination of the Dramatic Corporeal Techniques of Etienne Decroux and Marcel Marceau, we will use geometry, weight, rhythm, and muscular dynamics as we explore simple ways in which the performer can “trick the eye” of the audience, allowing the willing suspension of disbelief that a woman is actually a man.

A completely unique, specific physical approach to this work. Information.
